side exit dump tube thru front bumper
i am looking into doing a side exit dump tube coming out from the side of my front bumper... i have searched for answers but couldnt really find anything helpful... i am running the drag manifold and wanted to do the side exit.... i just need some suggestions or idea on this... i was thinking having the dump tube go down and maybe get a flex pipe like the ones used on the exhaust to the side of the bumper?? cut a piece of metal for the inside and outside of the bumper and rivet it? where can i get those sheets of metal that will look nice and also how can i bend the metal so it could go to the inside of the bumper? i was thinking on welding the dump tube to the inside plate so no one can push the dump tube inside my bumper or mess around with it..... any help from people that have done it or any ideas are really appreciated... thanks in advance

I like the way that it looks but I am not sure if I would do it my self. It looks like its asking for attention. I dont want that kinda attention, you know?

Re: (rOby)
yeah i could route it along the downpipe but then the exhaust fumes would get into the cabin... its almost same as running an open down pipe, the exhaust fumes are too crazy

actually there is a side exit dump tube on that as well
but, side exits get REALLLY annoying, REALLY FAST. not to mention letting out a couple flames from the side of you car can get unwanted attention....
if you're just concerned with the fumes.....route it back into your exhaust and then you won't have ot deal with anything

So Im kinda confused, are you just looking for suggestions on how to route a dump tube for the external wastegate???
I figure really there is only 2 options: 1) Route back into exhaust 2) Dump straight out
Just figure out where you want it, and run piping out. I would say since most likely its only going to be about what 2 feet??? of piping if someone trys to push it or move it. It wont be flexing because its mounted solid. Just leave room around the bumper so you dont burn it or hit it when the engine is reved and rocks a little around.

Re: (Cabby89)
im tryin to route it out the side of the bumper like the 1st picture up there...... but i need to find out how to or where to get those steel plate and where to bring it to get that riveted.... cuz the steel sandwich the bumper and u rivet it so it doesnt move around.... i was also thinkin about welding the pipe on the inside to the steel plate so people cant mess around with it

All you need is a dump tube routing under the car.

sounds to me like your looking for an easy answer rather then doing alittle research. It would not be hard to accomplish something like what you want to do. Do some measuring, get some bending done to some pipe cut a hole in your bumper cover it with the the *bling* chrome stuff. It takes time and research, there is not a kit that does this... this is pure fabrication.
Being in Cali, don't police pull you guys over for having obvious stuff like that on your car?

edit: i know this has been posted already in some archived posts. Do research man, don't be lazy. Search Search Search

Re: (kKdARIAN)
superorb i was thinking about getting a flange so the bumper can come off easier then if the dump tube was one piece all the way to the wastegate which will prob be impossible taking off the bumper.... and i know its all about fabrication thats why i wanted people to list how did they do it.... the most part im scared of is the rivet part and the steel part on the bumper.... cuz i don't think i will be able to make the steel bend nicely and the rivets nicely to make it look nice.... i want it to look decent and not ghetto thats why i'm asking for advice before i do it

and for police... i care less about them and i'm not worried about it... i was running open down pipe for a few months and got pulled over once and they never even said anything about the car being loud, drove near police a few times and they never said anything too... just gotta drive slower when i see them thats all
