Default Should I put the turbo on?

im trying to run the afc hack on my d16y7 w/ a complete greddy kit.

every time i try to put the injectors and everything in, I get cel 71 and 73, (misfiring cyl. 1 and 3)

Tomorrow is going to be an awesome day, 60-70º. Should I throw the kit on with stock injectors and no hack?

I have a vafc installed. But the injectors are stock and no fuel pump.

Should i put the kit on 5psi, and dont beat on it till i get the injectors and fuel pump in?

I'm starting to get pissed, what do you guys think. I'm running outta options. and i just wanna get this damn thing in.

why not install the kit and run greddy's fuel management until you can figure out the injectors.

Figure out why you are getting those codes when you install the kit. I would keep it all off until you get everything together or figure out what you want to do.

Explain to me the problem of putting a COMPLETE greddy (including fuel management) kit on a car!
I'm pretty sure there are a few civics out there running the greddy kit.

Now if he said something like, putting the turbo on with no fuel management, I would have to say NO

I dont have the blue box. I was figuring everyone was gunna say dont put it on. I wasn't really planning on it. But i was just curious what peoples opinion were.

Here is my problem (in detail)

I decided to put my vafc, my dsm 450's and resistors on before i put the kit on.
I thought this was smarter to do in case I ran into problems doing it while i was putting to turbo on.

The vafc installation went very smooth..
Then, I put the dsm450's and RC clips on. Instead of running a resistor box, i ran 4 individual resistors to each yel/blk injector wire.

On the AFC, i changed the settings to -40 wide, and -40 narrow. and throttle 72-73

Once I started the car you were able to tell right away it was misfiring. I checked the cel, and it was 71 and 73.

As of right now I dont really know whats going on. This is my 3rd time trying this.
The 3rd time though it ran a little better the the other 2 times. Anyone have an idea why its doing this?

Im thinking about getting some rc440's. I dunno what else to do.

well for one you don't have a complete kit then, and two, why not just get a resistor box and try that instead. It may solve your problem.

only thing i dont have is the blue box. So if you dont consider that a complete kit for even the fact I have everything for the hack, and everything for the kit minus the blue box, your a moron.

BTW: i have a resistor box, but i saw a how-to w/ the resistors. So i figured id give it a try.

I'm a moron because for some strange reason I feel that having everything BUT the blue box doesn't make a complete kit. If you think thats a complete kit, Boy do i have deal for you, I'm selling a COMPLETE car minus the engine (the chassis has 100k) I'll give you a killer deal. But don't forget since it's complete I'll be asking the retail price for a similar civic w/100k miles. You can find the engine elsewhere at your own cost. Sounds like a deal huh.
I know your smarter then this but just in case.
Complete = everything included. Let me emphasis EVERYTHING.....
"Having all necessary or normal parts, components, or steps; entire" as quoted from Webster himself.

everything but (insert item) does not = complete
"Not complete; not filled up; not finished; not having all its parts,"
Is what you have. also a direct quote from Webster.

Sorry that I even tried to give you help, good luck on your project, I won't be chiming in to help you with any advice. I guess your smarter then that.

thats nice.

so anyone have an idea? I'm going to replace my plugs, and check the wiring again. Could the reason I dont have a upgraded fuel pump be a problem?

I had problems with using the radioshack resistors too. Not sure why.

I've never tried "the hack", because it's outdated these days. With options like uberdata available for free, it just doesn't seem like it's the way to go. Check it out if you haven't already. http://www.ecimulti.org/uberdata

Outdated? Please, its still a cheap and affective fuel management for someone who doesn't wanna spend the money on tuning their car right off the bat. Uberdata is nice but for the majority of the people on here that don't know how to use it, it'd be much better to run the hack.

Don't know how to use it? Are you serious?
Come on, you can't be. As far as not tuning right away, can we say 'basemap'?

The hack is outdated, period. PM me if you're interested in taking this any further.

i've had that problem, and it was because my injector plug wires were messed up on 2.

i would see if the clips have popped off or something..

good luck!
