Once again, you are an idiot. .. You ask one question to start the thread, and you follow with 3 other questions // comments that are totally unrelated to your original question. ... do you have A.D.D. or you just naturally dull ??

you should take off a housing of the turbo that had wastegate dumping exhaust into it due to lack of dumptube. It's okay, just little dirt, it's nothing. Just dont clean the wheel itself.

let me attempt to clear something up here ... your original question is asking if you should clear up the dirt that sits around your internal side of compressor housing or whether you should leave it alone. .. Right ? ... well let me ask you this ... Why the hell would you take apart your turbo and NOT clean the dirt off of your parts ? ... Another question .. Why are you asking us this question ?? Can't you make a decision for your-self ? .. or maybe you haven't developed your cognitive abilities yet ... Get a Fukng brian !!

its just dirt and dust, spray it off with some brake clean and youre good to go. it has nothnig to do with the brand of turbo, it will happen to EVERY turbo over time.

I disagree. I dont think its dirt. If it was dirt the compressor wheel would be chewed up by now. I had a turbo that looked identical to that and when I pulled off the compressor wheel there was oil around the thrust collar area. Furthermore if it WAS dirt the turbo spinning and making boost would be enough to force the dirt into your chargepipes and ultimatley into your engine.
Does it have any in/out play? I say use it and see if the car smokes or your charge pipes get oily after a while. Its probably fine but like I said, its not dirt, its an oily substance thats sticking to the backplate, and there should be basically zero oil whatsover in that area if its a mint turbo.

Yeah, it's supposed to be Brain, but either one works. ... dirt, oil-substance, I don't care, .. the point is that a person with an ability to turn on the computer, log on to H-T, and go to the Forced Induction section should have the knowledge to make every-day decisions all by him/her-self, .. cleaning a piece of metal should not be a difficult decision.
