Default Semi-tuned 10 psi!!

I cranked the Joe P again, this time to 10 psi. In doing this, I noticed that between 6k-7k rpms I leaned a little bit. I turned the AEM FPR up to 46 psi fuel pressure and tried it again. It never went below .80 volts. All I need now is to have Tom Payne tune my Hondata map so that I am spot on at lower rpms and part throttle. It runs a little too rich everywhere but 5k-7k at full throttle. Still, at 10 psi it is faster than hell. My left shoulder aches a little from fighting the torque steer at full throttle from 4k-7k in 2nd gear lol!!

LOL, well I have to stop now because I am only mapped to 10 psi on my Hondata map. Once Tom Payne goes to work for me I will have him map to to like 15-20 psi I guess. Just in case I build the motor and want to get crazy hehe.

Yeah, stock block D16. As long as there is no detonation and it does not lean out up top everything should be fine. I also do have a stock clutch, it still feeels fine after boosting for almost two weeks. I am aware of the clutch so I kind of baby it a bit while launching.
I would like to meet up at some point dude, sure.

The d16 can take up to 14psi on the stock block. I met a guy here in Houston that is doing that without sleeves or a block guard, just GE rods and pistons. This is the first guy I have met that actually would rather have the d16 than the b16 for turbo apps, says it's more reliable. I dunno, I'm still sceptical about that claim, but I guess it makes sense.

That is great to hear that there are D16 guys running that level of boost. I know I may be *pushing* it running 10 psi right now, but I also have a sensible right foot. Some days I hardly boost at all. I let the car warm up and cool down properly, a minute or two. Like I said earlier, I do not lean out or ping at all.

There's another guy on this board that is pushing 14psi with his stock d16 block, but I forget his user name.

Do you know if you have to drive your car around at 15psi to map it out there? I would like to get my setup mapped for that so I don't have to drive to michigan when I get my engine built.

97civic: When you say stock block.. Is the whole bottom end stock, or do you have forged pistons/rods in a stock casting? If you have the forged internals, you can run mad boost with good tuning on the stock casting.
