Sea Foam??
I keep hearing good things about it in the NA forums... ANy turbo guys ever used it? It still sketchs me out, but I'd like to hear if anyone has had good luck with it on a turbo Honda
I've used it on mine and it does a really good job. My pison tops were caked with carbon, now they are a nice bronzy color. Some guys like to pour it into the spark plugs holes and let it rest on the pistons for a few minutes, which they say is the best method for removing gunk, I did not do that. The only thing I did was suck it up through a vacuum line and watch the smoke pour out.
I used it on my NA motor...I loved it and would recommend it to anyone. I don't see why it would hurt a turbo car...It is 100% petroleum and should be burned off before the turbo sees it anyway. I have read concerns of high carbon buildup flaking off, but I don't know for certain that is even an issue.
I use it on my turboed B18B and it works amazingly. The problem I have is a small leak in the head gasket. And all I do is pour a little in with my oil, and it really gets rid of the moisture.

yeah i used it on my turboed integra it definatly burnt off some carbon deposits.
but the best was when my dad used it on our old mercedes with 250k miles ish
then when he went for a drive it smoked horrorificly for about 15 mins.

i got some napa autoparts it was about 4$ a bottle.. worked great on my NA car.. i noticed a difference and when istarted driving it it was burning off a lot of gunk.. great stuff.. i would like to hear more about from the guys who did it to there turboed cars.. but i really dont need to do it, my motor only has about 3000 miles since its been rebuilt and put in..

My family runs a couple of Napa shops..if anyone is interested i can get them some for what we pay for it..the stuff works real well. my daily driver (explorer) smoked for like 10 minutes after we used it.
What about the turbo, once the SeaFoam gets in the oil it would have to go through the turbine... I'm still worried hehe... I assume my bay is going to get nasty as **** when my wastegate opens as well huh
I still wanna try it once I'm throughly convinced that its safe

its safe.. just dont know if would want to use it on a car with a turbo.. they recommend changing the oil shortly after you do it, so i guess it cant hurt it that much!

im afraid if it eats away baked on carbon from years of driving, whats it going to do to gaskets and such?
Not that I would use it on my turbo teg with freshly built motor but it would be for my 91 protege...

LOL, unfortunately for you guys I don't have a messiah complex
I know my engine could use some cleaning, but if it ain't broke and the product ain't backed up by a lot of people for this type of application then...

well, people have said they used it on their turbo hondas so........im going to try it . napa?? ill pick some up this weekend , how do you use it? you just let it soak up through a vacuum line ? whats the best way
What other types of replies do you need to see? You've already had 5 or 6 people with turbo cars give favorable replys in this thread. Any other replies have been irrelevant to turbo or they have not used the stuff.
for those of us using the jrsc, how would we go about using this stuff? i wouldnt want to pour it into the brake booster line for fear that it will get recirculated through the bypass valve and go into the blower...i dont know if this would be bad for it. would it be best to do it all through the gas tank instead? is this less effective? i was thinking pour 1/3 into a full tank, once the tank is empty, fill it up again and use another 1/3, then use the last 1/3 bottle into the crankcase?
What I did was pour 1/3 of the can in the gas(1/2 tank of gas), went down the street to an open lot(so neighbors would not complain about the smoke) and let the vac suck up the reaminder. 3 days later gas is empty(gas light on), replaced oil and refilled gas.
If you are worried about the SC, you can always pour a few drops on the pistons and let them sit for a few minutes. Then restart the car(it may take a few tries to crank it over) and follow the same steps above minus the vac thing.

i think i'll give it a try.....its a B16A with "JDM" miles on it....i'm just hoping it doesn't turn into another horror story like the couple that were floating around awhile ago.
What about just pouring it directly in the engine for us with JRSCs? I thought it was designed for pouring it into the oil and running for about 15 minutes then doing an oil change...?
Am I wrong in this approach?
