SC'ed K20's
Im just trying to find out if there is anyone on here besides me who has supercharged there DC5 K20a motor? Secondly im trying to find out if anyone has pushed over 7psi? Currently thats what im pushing but im tempted to bump it up to the 9psi pulley but i dont know if the 11:5:1 compression would take it. Any thoughts, input would be find and dandy.

Re: SC'ed K20's (rmcdaniels)
i live on every forum.. The traction issue is based of my tires. 205/45/R16.. i swapped those out with my buddes 215/55/R17 and brought my 60ft down from a 2.8 to a 2.3. Which is a heck of a lot better all things considered. So ill prbobably be purchasing me some Drag slicks here sometime soon, to help with the traction issue. Im looking to push about 300whp. its been my goal and i want to hit it. Now as for trappin at 100mph.. I havent quite figured that out. I know it comes in to play with the 60ft., but i know im barely shifting from 4 to 5th crossing the finish line. Plus i have my rev limit set for 8600 so i can hold each gear a little longer. But im not worried about the traction issue right now, im working on correcting that. And i dont need driving lessons, ive been racing virtually all my life, the only thing left to do is tune the suspention and find the correct tire setting. Its all part of the game.
But thats off the point, Ive read people trying it, but ive never found the outcome of anyone boosting a 9psi pulley on an k20a ITR motor. all i want to know if it can be done without blowing the engine.

Re: SC'ed K20's (TransformedBG)
I can't help with your supercharger questions, but just for reference I usually run about 13.9-14.0 with 2.2-2.3 60's and consistantly trap 103ish.
Does sound like somethings a little off. Even with horrible 60's I would expect that thing to pick up speed quick and trap well over 100.

Re: SC'ed K20's (88 rex)
Thats what you would expect... but i have a couple therorys as to why its off.. Well beside the track i go to having rocks on the end of the track, and no real return road... I think they recently switched over to some new system to get the print outs... So it might be a little off.. But the other thing that im thinking its that if i spin 1-3rd gears, i cant accelerate in those gears and get traction. *mph wise 1st gear=38.26, 2nd=58.67, 3rd=82.38, 4th=103.11, 5th=128.04, 6th=160.21) Now with that in mind theoretically if i redline out on 4th then i should be trappen at 103.11 correct? But for some reason it doesnt come up that way at the track and i can usually peg the end of 4th, and actually get into 5th right before i cross the line. I want to try a different track and see what happens you know?
