Default safe boost on mod engine

OK im sure this has been up before but i cannot find it so hear goes. I have a 99 GSR (integra). I just did the top end and put an HKS stopper Head gasket in. It is supposed to lower the compression to 8.5-1 to 9.0 -1. Anyways ive been told a stock gsr can take 8-10 psi. I was wondering what would be safe can i bring the boost higher becasue i lowered compression or not. And yes all the fuel and timing is gonna be tunned

dont set your goals by the amount of psi. use whp. no matter what your compression is, a stock block can only take so much whp before it fails. I am weary of swapping gaskets to lower compression. Oem seems to satisfy most people. The amount of whp you can get is all in the tune. Oh, have fun with your obd2...

fyi a gt25r isnt bigger than a t3/t4 a gt35r is basically a ball bearing t25 (which is way smaller than a t3/t4 hybrid) with more aerodynamic wheels

I have the same turbo on a b16a2 not tuned yet. I wanted to know what is the max bhp that my stock block will handle

its not bigger. you paid an extra 400 bucks for a ball bearing turbo, just because it looks bigger than one turbo doesnt mean ****, sure the housings might be different but its the wheel that matters.

pulled directly from atp's site regarding the gt25r

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by ATPTurbo.com &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Dual Ball Bearing GT25R Turbo assembly with internal wastegate assembly. .64ar turbine with 5 bolt exit. Very very Good response turbo for 4 Cyl applications. This turbo has a flow capacity of about 240HP.</TD></TR></TABLE>

and a picture

here is the link if you dont believe me

i hope your manifold is flanged for a t25 turbine housing or you are going to have problems

no matter what, a gt28 uses a t28 compressor wheel, its a t2 based turbo aka t25, no way its bigger than a t3/t4 and turbonetics does not use gt designations since that is under licenese to garrett so you need to post pics of what you have

and last time i checked i knew a shitload more about this than you

ok so if your the man to talk to explain to me what kind of turb i have. Ive been through this with so many people saying my turbo is good for 250 wheel. and that goes with the pics you have shown me. I understand and agree with u on the gt2 part of things( my exhaust amn has a t2 flange hence the smaller turbine side but the compressor side is huge again i understand size doesn't always matter. I was told that the commpressor side is a hybred from a gt40 a supra turbo what i was told which is good for 400 horse. The intake plenium is 4inches in diameter show me that on ur pic and this seems kind of high but the trim i think is 76 so please explain to me exactly what i have cause it is not what u are thinking P.S. and i will try to sen u a pic of my turbo in my car hopefully tom.

by the way go to turbonetics.com click and catalog and click on the big box that says GT (garrett) they dont sell garrett expalin that to me. once u click that go about 3rd or 4th from the top- part number 330-2 and that I believe is my turbo!

Dude thats it exactly but the shop could not use the internal wastegate becasue of room and payed for a tial wastegate. Question whats the differance between the t25 and t3 unlet flange (other than size) in efficiancy and perfoemance

well the t3 version of the turbo uses a different turbine wheel than the t25 housing.

obviously it will flow better and give more top end performance, it is also easier to find t3 flagned manifolds for our cars/motors

each housing comes with a different turbine wheel

t25- quicker spool, poorer top end.
t3 - slightly lower spool, better top end
