Default Safe boost

At the moment, I've swapped a Z6 into my EG hatch, and plan to boost. But for 800 bucks, I know of a turbo kit that I can get ahold of. It's a T28 turbo. Now, I have searched, but only found the safe horsepower limits (~225). Just to be safe, I plan to make around 215. But will the amount of boost be a problem as well?

This is just temporary. Later in the summer, depending on money, I'm going to upgrade internals. Wiseco pistons, H-beams, micropolish crank, and perhaps sleeve it. When I do that, I'll get a T3T04E. Thanks in advance!

Looked on a different site... ~12-13 psi sound right?

it just depends every motor is diffrent. some might hold 12 psi and be fine and others may not. just boost 10psi with head studs and a good tune and be happy till you can upgrade your internals.

I do plan on ARP's and a Cometic HG. Just a real mild build for now. I'll do a compression test soon.

a stock D series can hold 10 psi with a good tune? I've been hearing as low as 5 psi and no higher than 7 psi on stock internals.. I am within about 2 months of turbo'n a jdm d15b, so i would love to know whats safe.

also while on the subject, i am about to buy the injectors, should i go with 240cc or more? can i install em before the turbo and run ok?

I've already got intake/exhaust/socketed and chipped p28, nothing major, walbro fuel pump on the way, have a msd diz cap on standby (Which coil should i get?)

I wouldn't run bigger injectors without tuning. It can mess with things. Too much fuel is bad. And I would suggest bigger than 240's. If I recall, the EX's had 240's, right? And I don't get what you said about your "intake/exhaust/socketed" p28.

I'm going to be running 10psi on a 200k d16z6 w/ headstuds and new headgasket/waterpump/timing belt

I plan on making around 200hp if not a little more. The bottom end is said to be good to 250hp, but not everyones motor will go to that before blowing. Some blow at 190, some may take you to 260. It all depends on the condition of the motor and stock sleeves.

A friend of mine with rc440's, obx manifold and a .48/52 turbo made 228hp on a d15b(stock) with a vafc tune @ 8.6psi(no wideband, timing retarded at dizzy)

As long as you get a good tune, anywhere from 7-10psi should be safe.
And no you cannot put bigger injectors in with the stock ecu, just wait until you put the turbo on and are ready to tune.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Toroke &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I wouldn't run bigger injectors without tuning. I would suggest DSM 450's (what i'm using)

like i said what is safe for one may not be for another. turbo size plays a big role in this too. a t25 my take 15psi to = what a t3 super 60 can do at 5 or 7 so there are a lot of factors involved.

Thanks. I'll do a compression test, do a few minor things (studs/headgasket/timing belt/water pump), and boost away.

watch your air fuel, listen, be smart...

I ran 15 psi, bone stock, y8 bottom/y7 head. No wear shown on tear down, around 3000 miles maybe 5, wasn't a daily daily driver. I am by no means an experienced tuner either.

Good Luck.
