SAFC Tuning Issue

SAFC Tuning Issue
Alright, heres what i am running. I have a d15b7 with a t25 turbo spiking at about 9 psi and running 7 psi. I have the dsm injectors with the resistors in the injector wiring. To start with, i set the safc at -35% across the board as was suggested by a few people that have done this before. The car runs but right now it is a little rich. I have a wideband O2 so i was going to use that to tune it so it was not rich. However whenever i cut the fuel percentages back to where the wideband shows they should be, the car has some issue. The check engine light comes on and after that, the car does not idle, it just dies. Before the check engine comes on, the idle works fine. What should i do or what am i doing wrong?

Re: SAFC Tuning Issue (Pullig)
how can it n ot lean it out enough? I leaned it out to where the air fuel was perfect. the check engine light seems to be an issue. Why would the safc have anything to do with that?

Re: SAFC Tuning Issue (94ta_lt1)
prolly cuz ur havin to lean it out so much that your putting the map voltage outa spec which throws the car into limp mode

Re: SAFC Tuning Issue (Pullig)
so if i switch it to the h33 injectors, am i going to need to pull the resisitors out of the injector wiring snd put honda plugs back on insted of dsm injector plugs? thanks for the help.

Where do you live? Dont want to sound rude but dont go cheap on management and take it to get tuned properly. I've seen a lot of people spend money to turbo there car and build their motors and go cheap when it comes to tuning/fuel management. For the amount of power you could make with a afc, spend some more money and get the most out of turbo kit.

Whoa, first of all, Prelude injectors are not that big, they are 270 cc/min. They would work, but there shouldn't be a problem running DSM 450's on an S-AFC, I've done this on a couple of cars. The next time you try and lean out the afc, and the check engine light comes on, don't cut the motor, check for CEL codes. What you can do is run the car with the connector shorted, so that if you get the light, the codes will start to flash, if any are present.

Re: (BlackPhoenix)
you are correct abt 270 cc somthing injectors in a OBd2 H22 but in the Obd1 H22 its 310 or 345 cant remmebr which go look on the prelude specs it will say exactly what i jsut told u

Re: (Pullig)
So lean it out again and then check the codes. Do i need to have a scanner to check the codes or how does that work on hondas? I don't see it as going cheap by using a safc. I had one laying around so thats what i used. I am using a wideband to tune it with it so i see no problems at all as long as i figure out how to lean it out enough

Re: (94ta_lt1)
its not a true tuning device, you cannot control ignition timing which is what makes power on turbo cars. it is a CHEAP, half *** solution. you could sell that safc and have enough money to buy a chipped p28
