Default s300 map for d16y8.

Hi i have a d16y8 top on a d16z6 block in my 96 coupe EX.

I have been running p2p ecu and e-manager fine, but i wanted hondata to tune some more.

The orginal p2p map and retarding timing under boost has worked good, but when i bought the s300 i did not know ther was no map for d16y8.

Should i take the p28(d16z6) map en retard the whole map by 4*?

I also tried to set timming at 12* and i flashed it to the middel line of the first 3
" ||| | " the crack wheel is also from my d16y8 block. when i do that i have to put the dizzy all the way back, but on the p2p i only had to have it on the middel so somthing is wrong.

Thanx for any reply

Kristian from Norway

With my original p2p i'm at 12* with the dizzy at center, to get the same result with s300 i had to adjust the timming to 21*.

So should i take the p28 basemap and add 5* insted of retard 9*????

Thanks for any reply

Set the timing in the S300 at idle to 12* and adjust the distributor until the marks line up. If you have an adjustable timing light that has advance, raise the engine RPM and verify that the timing is accurate at higher RPM.
It sounds like your other ECU was running less timing at idle.

the orginal ecu ran greate with emanager.
so to comensate for the odd y8 timming i have to run 21.5* to get it to time at 12* on the crank wheel.

id i set the map to 12* i have to move the dizzy all the way back so i can get to the mark of 12* at the crank.

Does it have any thing to say if the dizzy is at the middel or all the way back as long as the marks line up when i use the timming light and adjust the timming.

BTW, i have posted in the ems section but no go.
You can se my timmings here: https://honda-tech.com/forums/engine-management-tuning-124/d16y8-timing-hondata-2589239/
