Re: (spooncivic1)
this car is going to be for road race like stated about 150 times before......if you were to do the simple thing and read, you would know that.

Re: (DirtySol)
ya, but when "racing" is said, the next question thats popped up twice in this thread already:
"What class is this going to run in?"
When I get some track videos, I might start a thread in the RR&AC forum. Not sure how long itll last though, although Im sure they will like the car...

Re: (Tinker219)
yeah, I see your point.......that would be pretty interesting trying to register the car in a race and be competitive.....I think it would classify as a kit car maybe.......but then you would have to compete with those Fiero's with V-8's and Lambo bodies

The VW scene has been doing rear engines for a long while now. There has also been some twin engine cars too. Both factory, and private. Check out the UK Vw magazines, most of them are there

VW itself (the company) has been doing rear/twin engine projects for a 'long while', but it seems like the home-brew cars have really been popping up in the last year or two. For example-
-Golf mk2 with Porsche 944 n/a motor, drivetrain (front engine rwd)
-Golf mk2 with mid-engine, rwd 1.8T boosted to god knows how much power
-Corrado with mid-engine, rwd 24-valve VR6 (twin?)turbo
The workmanship on each of these cars is unreal, particularly the 'Raddo.
I encourage Honda-heads to check out VWVortex some time.....in particular the Hybrid/swap forum or the model-specific forums for the above cars. We drive different brands but we have lots to gain from eachother's "camps".

I honestly think you should take that wing of and put something a little more functional back on....I will get you a link of something that you should use instead

Re: (DirtySol)
I never said I liked/disliked just for the record, just kinda wanted to get some opinions. This being the FI forum, 99% are going to say AX it out though...
The design of the wing looks like it will provide some downforce, which will help in anything above 60mph(well, theoretically).

Re: (GITWIDIT)
ill run it for a few days, get some nylon plugs, and itll become just like the SRT4. Off one week, on the next, etc, etc. Itll match better when we primer-bomb the car this weekend
oh, ya, this requires me to spend no more $. Got it w/a parts car, so basically free.

Re: (Tinker219)
well it is a useful mod so the 30-40 bux spent on a spoiler kit is not that big of a cost........I might even be willing to help out on it if I can find the darn thing

his srt-4 is making 400 whp and 400 wtq....i highly doubt it will be any where near comprable.

Re: (DirtySol)
Wouldn't it need one of them lip spoilers in teh front more than in the back? All the weight is already towards the back, he's gonna need some weight/downforce over the front wheels.
