Running Hot/over heating
The car does not over heat. It runs up to about 230* on the highway 90* outside temps
Idling the after market 12" slim fan turns on at 207* (stock?) As long as temps dont reach 220*, the fan can cool the car down to 205*
Removed 3.5" thick fmic, temp wouldn't budge over 180*
Replaced fmic, no bumper cover/skin, temps got to 200*
New water pump, termostat.
The radiator has been replaced by the previous owner, same as the cap, they look "ok". Not sure how old they are. Car has 163k miles on it.
Good fluid, no air pockets.
The temps will come back down to 217* after getting off the highway, but has trouble getting them down any more than that.
Its a z6 turbo with half rad in a del sol si, no a/c.
Think I should get a new radiator from parts store? $80 for OEM type from Advance Auto
Any other suggestions/ideas/options? Thanks for any help!

Re: Running Hot/over heating (kyle h.)
P.S. I don't want an aftermarket performance radiator. I don't think this will solve the problem, from previous experience.
Flow is key. both coolant and air.

Re: (FAUCON)
Thanks for that reply. I saw that stock cars without A/C have "block-off" plates. I'm going to give that a try. Unless I can mount a full sized rad in a del sol?

Re: (kyle h.)
You just answered your own question. It's a air flow issue, and the FMIC is the cause. This airflow problem is common on a lot of honda-tech members cars.

Yep, FMIC is killing the flow, happened to me and now I have to ride around with my heat on in hot weather. This seems like this has been a really popular topic this summer, I wonder why. Everyone must be buying front mounts.

I have the same problem. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1349961
230? wow. Where does the needle sit on the stock temp gauge? Below half, half or higher?

Re: (Boognish)
I blocked off the spot where the a/c used to go and it's only gotten to 210*
I just made a sheet metal duct/block-off and I managed to fry the ECU..
I might add some more ducts around the sides of the intercooler.

I have the same problem, its you large intercooler. I have precision aic-750 and it blocks the whole front. This happens only on hot days so I dont drive my car on hot days. I'l drive it in the evening cause its cooler.

have you tryed to jump you fan so its on all the time in the key is on?
