im going to be getting hondata 2b and 440cc injectors very soon.. Im planning on running 7-11psi on my Revhard LS with it.. problem is is I cant afford to have it seriously tuned yet.. Is it ok to run off the base maps for a few months? can i run that and just keep boost below 9 or will i be fine running 11 on a good base map? or should I just wait altogether to install it until i can afford to really dyno tune it..
I figure hondata with a good basemap is much better then the FMU high fuel pressure set up so at least if i keep it under 9 ill b ok..

I plan to do the same thing when I can afford it Chris.
Run a Hondata with 440s and the base map.
I don't know if I can justify the 4b, but I really want it! Just so much $$... ack!

It depends on who makes your base map.. I got my base map for Tom Payn for a 99 Civic Si, using a p28 ECU. With 47psi of static fuel pressure things looked good at low boost but once i got up to 8psi at the dyno, the base map started to get too lean (ilke 12-13:1 a/f ratio)
I wouldn't push more than 7-8psi on an untuned base map unless you want to pump up the base fuel pressures somewhat to compensate. If you turn up the pressures though, you may have problems with cold idling.

The base map crapped out at 8Psi? That seems low to me. I plan on using the P28 ECU on my 97 EX with the Hondata 2B from Tom Payne. I will have to mention to him that 8Psi is not going to be enough, I need to hit 12-14 Psi safely.
The base program is meant to get you to your target as close as possible and to get you started. When i give you the base program it will be close. Good for 9lbs. Anything over that you will need to dail it in on the dyno.
Oh alot better then a FMU!

from what ive read the base maps are pretty close and only need "fine tuning".
at 1st when hondata 1st came out there werent many maps to choose from, but if you tell them your setup, turbo size,compression,cams,etc..theyll pick a base program thats pretty close.

Just waiting for art to get the 4b so i can hook u guys up!! hehe I might just have to fly out there to Dallas to tune your cars! Hit me up when u get the chance!
IF I wasnt fixing to rebuild Art I would seriously consider giving you my Hondata 4b in exchange for you buying me a 3B w/ datalogging and getting me dyno time and tuning it. That sound interesting to you? If you still dont have it when I get rebuilt, we will talk bro..

I would'nt run it hard on a base map, I have got an ls/vtec turbo with some 450's in it on the base map it ran way to lean bad detonation on any boost above vtec, but for part throttle it will be ok still alittle lean but not enough to hurt anything, know matter what you need to tune it, turbo motors aren't cheap so becareful with the basemap.
at the shops around here they really advise against it. one guy blew his headgasket after 350 miles and 1 guy after 700 miles. fact is when u start driving your boosted car your not gonna be able to just tell yourself to stay out of boost. I personally didnt drive mine until i had enough cash to get it tuned, but if thats not an option i would say just stay out of boost until u get it tuned.
