Just basically what every turbo kit comes with. Manifold, Turbo, IC, BOV, and all the little stuff you always see. It came up in a talk the other day and I just thought I ask.

I've seen the inside of the engine bay of a DC5...it'll be very hard to get a turbo in that thing!

Well, at least the 94 Tegs had the exhaust manifold facing forward towards you. The RSX's exhaust mani is hidden in the rear.
If you guys can do it, go for it. I'd wait for a few dyno numbers first.

I do not think engine room would be that bad. There is lots of room behind the engine for a turbo. You will just NEED to use an air to water IC cause there is not much room for piping or FMIC. You need some to crack the ECU to see if you can program it for boost and differnet injectors
Too bad i do not live in texas and the fact that one turbo honda is enough for me!!

I dont know if will do it, but it was just an idea. We also thought about the intercooler and where the hell can we put it? LOL. If Im not mistaken the ECU's can be reflashed which should make things interesting.

The room in the engine bay isn't that bad at all considering again that the exhaust manifold is running on the backside of the engine by the firewall..... Reason I say is when I had my gti VR6 exhaust mani was at the rear as well with not to much clearance but yet there was still enough that EIP and others could make a turbo kit for that car utilizing a full T04 with a FMIC and trust me there is MUCH less space in the engine bay compared to the type-s so definitely possible. Fuel control and ecu is a different story.

Yeah IC is a problem!! No clearance behind the bumper....Probably an Impreza like job is neccessary, with a higher hoodline or huge hood scoops.

You will be able to fit a nice size air to water unit were the huge factory air box sits. Then plumb right into the TB. Not too much piping or anything else needed.

its not that small of a space in the back of the engine...i looked theres a lot of space below that too...u'll have better weight distribution with the turbo there....
but questions
the type S is 11to1 comprression ain't it?
and how safe would a turbo kit do?

Does the RSX have a fuel return line?
If really want to do this, you know that reprogramming/replacing the ecu is the biggest priority.

Re: RSX Turbo kit? Anyone interested? (zygspeed)
someone already boosted a RSX a few months ago. check out clubrsx.com/net or whatever it is.
I'd think for an air->air IC you'd need a WRX style top mount, like others have said. It's seems kinda risky though with that compression. I bet it'd ping away after like 5psi+.
The best thing about the ECU is, it controls cam timing, so a proper ECU program could tune out the overlap and increase power accordingly. Serious potential here.
