Rods?
hi,
Im in the market for some rods and well im on a budget. I have found a nice deal on some crower billet rods. I just wanted to get some of your guys thoughts on them. I would like to use manley or pauter ,but its just outta budget for this project. I was also thinkin of maybe eagle rods ,but ive seen a few ppl have problems with them. So any advice would be great. Oh and the setup is a ls/vtec lookin to make around 450-500 whp. Thanks chris

Re: Rods? (NAPIER)
the crower billet rods are one of the best rods available, the crower econo rods are a different story.crower billet, manley, pauter, cunningham, all of these rods will hold more power then you can produce.

I fried my sleeved B18C/ Crower H-Beam, lost chunks right off the pistons and even tried to blow it up and it wouldnt. Pulled it apart and the rods were perfect, reused them with larger bearings

I've alway used Crower and liked them. I pulled mine out and the only thing wrong with them is that the pin bushings were a little loose. Not at tight as they were when they were new, and Ive been told this is normal with the crowers. I could have used them in my next motor, but I wanted to start fresh again, so I got some manleys.
I also heard the Brian is no longer with Crower. I heard he has started another company called BC and is going to be making more stuff for imports. I heard a rumor that he wanted to move forward into the sport compact market and the company of his same name, Crower, did not. This is just a rumor I heard.
