Which rods?
I'd like to get your guys opinions on which rods to get.... I'm stuck between Pauter and the Crower 4340 Steel Billet Connecting Rods.
Lemme know what you guys think.
Price wise Pauter is a bit more expensive, but if it's a better rod I don't mind spending the extra money

i dont think your gonna snap either one of those rods so pick whichever one you can afford.
crower pauter
if it were up to me i would choose crower......just because they are deffinatly more popular.....

Re: Which rods? (non-VTEC)
i really like pauters, but i hear the wait time to get them for b-series is a little long.. but either way you cant go wrong.. they both are proven rods

For what its worth, I just modeled both types, an x-beam and an I-beam and ran an FEA on both. They werent exact specs by any means, but the x-beam had lower stresses than the I beam.

I personally like the Pauters better, but thats just a biased opinion. I didnt have a scale but when I hand weighed the two the crowers were heavier but I dont have digital arms so I could be wrong. I like the design and the over-all finish that the Pauter rods had. Good luck on your build
