Default Rod and main bearing clearance question

For those who set their bearing clearances, do you set them to the loose side of spec? (For a turboed engine.)

ya, like not too far off from the proper size. i forget the window they give you, but i would not try to go a step above or below the proper size.

Keeping the clearance loose will make for a more reliable turbo motor, but too loose and you'll find that you may need to step up to a thicker weight oil ( from 10/30 to something like a 20/50 ) This way the oil has more viscosity and can fill the void better and provide extra cushion for your engine components under boost.

Thanks. Going to set them on the loose side, but still within Hondas suggested spec. Think i'll run 10w40 also.

Ring gap and piston to wall clearances should also be a little looser for boost apps.
