Ring gap question...
CP 81.5mm pistons... i know that most people say .006 for top and .045 for second... i just want to know what would happen if you gapped the aftermarket rings to OEM ring gap specs.... too little gap? why?... on let say a motor boosted 15-20psi... thanks

Re: Ring gap question... (fullracegsr)
is that number per inch of bore ?
When I ran wiseco/endyn for tight clearance, I used .0013 on top and bottom.
I hardly ever see over .0017 ish..

Re: Ring gap question... (Flamenco-T)
what i meant what multiply .006 time bore size...3.209... and .0045 times bore size... for top and 2nd respectively... i measured gap on one cyclinder using oem spec... .008-.014 for top and .009-.022 for 2nd ring all rings for cyclinder 4 came out within spec... but now i read you should do the math above to find proper ring gap and i just want to know why??
i think my measurement were...
top .013
bottom .019
help appreciated i want to do all cyclinder gap later today...
