Default Rich? Lean? Dumb? O2 code coming up

I have thrown a code for the O2 sensor (Code 1) and I'm wondering what I should do to help out my sichyation. I think I might be too lean. Plugs read fine. Clean looking with slight white just on the metal. electrode looke really good.

This weekend I put in a JR supercharger on a D16Z6 motor.
Put timing at 9 BTDC and I'm running 92 octane. Air temp here about 95.
Driving without getting on it was fine. (I was feeling it out)
Problem was when I punched it, a few seconds later, I get a code.
I check it and it's the O2 sensor. I just got an OEM Genuine Honda replacement 2 weeks ago. So it is not the sensor itself.
My question is, Has anyone had experience with tuning a D16Z6 with a JR S-charger? Is there anything special you did while tuning it? The car runs ok with the check engine light on, but I don't see the pin-your-ayuss in the seat feel I was expecting. It is quicker than it was before, but not by much. (Have not run at track because of code) I'll dyno it, but not untill I have everything covered that needs covering.
I tend to think I may need more fuel at WOT than can be supplied by my stock fuel pump, but I don't want to just mask another problem that may be lurking around. Any suggestions?

Oh, I should not that when first testing it out, there was slight pinging around above 3K in various gears. I got some octane boost, put half of it in about 9 gallons and the pinging is gone. Threw the O2 code before the Octane boost, and still throws it a bit after getting on it. I have reset the ECU a few times to see.
It seems to run really strong before the code gets thrown.
Does the ECU go into "safe" mode that quickly?

Ok thanks.

Hey you should really get some gauges. Try a A/F meter, exhaust temp and boost. I've tuned the poop out of my set up and I couldn't have done it with out my guages. It sounds like you are very lean. I've never heard any pings and I run 8psi. In the earlier stages of tuning, I saw my guages read lean and extra lean but I still heard no pining so I can't imagine how lean you must be.

Do yourself a favor and buy guages. It's way cheaper than a motor.

Peace- Matt :

check the wires from the sensor to the ECU.

Yes the car does go in to a limp home mode that quickly. It disables the closed loop function whenever there is an O2 error where the ECU compensates for the fuelling at part throttle. Then it runs only off the maps in the ECU meaning even leaner (or richer) than before.

Make sure you have read over the tecnical section
http://www.hondata.com/tech.html and the section specifically dedicated
to JRSC problems covered in http://www.hondata.com/boostjrsc.html

Thanks for the reply. I had posted a question last Wednesday or Thursday before I installed it for tips and as much info about the install as possible, but I got no replies.

glagola1-
Which guage do you feel is the most crucial in tuning this ****?
Do you remember how you had yours set up when you were running just the 5lbs?
I have the B&M fuel regulator and I had it set at 40psi under vacuum as opposed to when the car was stock (36psi under vacuum).
What is the proper way to set the JR regulator? I can't get a good clean answer
from them. Do you know what the range of psi it is supposed to be?
I keep thinking that since the problem is while under boost, it is the JR regulator that is not upping the psi enough.

B20C5 Turbo-
I have checked the harness and the length of all 4 wires and all is good in that department. B20C5 Turbo? Gatt Damn!!!

Hondata-
Thanks!! I wondered this, but you get mixed responses from the ill-informed.

Anyone else with any info, questions, whatever... feel free.
I am very new at the forced induction thing.
I put together this kit from a mish mash of parts and just went at it.
Thankfully, I had no coolant or fuel leaks, and everything was plugged back where it should have gone. Thanks go to Clint (typer 00-115) for letting me use his garage at his house and helping with this. It was a little tougher than bolting on exhaust. hahahahah.
