Default Revlimit recommendations on this h22a head setup:

Ok, my friend is building a motor w/ a pretty large turbo on his h22a motor. He's looking to purchase portflow dual valvesprings retainers, and ferrea standard sized springs. He's going to need all the extra rev's he can get to keep this turbo in the right range so he's looking to rev to 8-9grand. With the right cams, would this setup be okay?? Also what cams do you think he should run?

The valvetrain set-up looks good.

I have no clue who manufactures cams for the H22a that will STILL produce power up to 9k. You might want to look into webcams and see what kind of customs you can get. I know Papadakis's set-up puts out over 600whp and he stops making power around 8k rpms if I remember correctly. Most H series motors start to peak out around 7800-8000 rpms. Keep in mind the rod/stroke ratio of the H series motors... they do not have to rev up to 9k to produce power.

This won't be much help because I don't know what manufacturer this stuff is, but my friend races SCCA with his Lude and it revs to 11K.

With a properly built head and bottom end an h22 motor is capable of spining up to 9k's and more. I would look into web cams and tell your frend to get a really good intake manifold. The stock h22 manifold just doesn't cut it, it robs it of power and rev capibilites. Wait till the AIR comes out.

We actually have a couple guys here who rev there h22 to 9500rpm.

it's really not the head you gotta worry about when reving the **** out of it, with a good set of springs and retainers, your set. It's the block. Personally on a stock block, I wouldn't push past 8500.
