Retainer Problem
I've serious problems with my stock Retainers.
In my fresh build motor (B20VTEC) a retainer broke after around 2000 miles.
After fixing it (gladly the most parts where reuseable) the car runs again, now for around 1000 miles and one 1/4mile pass ... and ... a other retainer starts cracking (gladly not broken yet, so i can fix it befor damge will be done).
The car was street tuned and put down 316hp @ 9psi.
Retainers (from a 1997 B16A2 Head, around 100k miles on it) are stock, ITR springs, GSR cams, UGR Valves, redline 9000rpm (i just reved 1-2 times that high with the new build).
On the first problem with the retainer i just was thinking i had bad luck, but now with the 2nd cracked retainer i serious starts to worry.
From very old posts i read that retainers can break due the rev bouncing on revlimiter or misshifting, but i just hit 1-2 times the revlimiter, i never misshifted, i have a (more or less)consative driving style. So what could i have done to hurt the retainers?
Has anyone an idea what could be wrong? Any idea what i can check?
TIA
PS: Sorry for the bad english, i'm an austrian man, so my motherlanguage is german.

For english as a second language you speak/type very well. I can't offer much insight to this, but I wanna find out as well. I have stock retainers with Toda springs and CTR cams. I will anxiously await some answers.
