Default resistor box question!!! HELP!!!

hey guys...

i just installed my resistor box on my 94 coupe..

just a question, what does it look like on the inside of the resistor box..??

the reason why i ask is because the resistor box that i was given from a friend has a total of 7 wires.... 1 red and 6 black... we dont know or remember what car it came from...

i pretty much hooked up the 4 wires from the dead-end clip to the red and the remaining four to four black ones and just left the other two dangling..

is that correct or should i be worried about something..???

thats a 6 cyl resistor box.
the single wire feeds all 6. the 4 you have coming out should be ok, just make sure they cannot complete circuit as it will be a short.
(please correct me if i am wrong)

so i would be ok just leaving the other 2 black left over dangling like that..?? or would it be best to just ground em..?

NO DONT GROUND THEM they are 12+. resistors are there but 12+. terminate them by shrinkwrapping them. dont let them ground.

oh ok i think i get it..!!!

inside the resistor box are a total of 6 resistors... and they are all connected on one side (the red wire)

ok ok... do i have to shrinkwrap em..?? cant jsut leave em dangling..??

would i need to check resistance too though..?

you need 10watts 10ohm. if it is an automotive resistor box, i think it can handle the heat dissipation. but the resistance needs to be 10ohm.

you can let them hang, shrinkwrap assures they wont ground.

you are correct. the single wire goes in, splits across 6 resistors, and the 6 wires come out to the injectors. the injectors are hot all the time and the ecu triggers them on the ground side. in your case you only need 4.
