So my timing belt broke and I ended up bending some valves question now is do I replace the bent valves with OEM or upgrade the lot to aftermarket valves. Opinions welcome

 

Unless the oem size replacement valves have a back cut stem, allowing for more airflow then no. simply replace the bent valves and lap them into place using a lapping compound and a lapping valve tool. Some people cut the seats oversized, say one millimeter and then run half millimeter bigger valves than oem, they seat just fine but you actually get more air into the cylinder since there's less valve in the way. Call it an old racers trick

You also need to check the valve guides because of the bent valves somehow touched the valve guide it will be damaged or off center or out of round. This will cause excess play in the valve at the seat and cause even further problems
