Default replacing stock distributor

My OEM distrubutor is starting to go bad. When the engine is cold (like when I turn it on the morning), I hear a chattering/clicking sound. It goes away when the engine warms up. I thought maybe valves, so I did a valve adjustment. No luck. So I held a rod to the part of the distributor that connects to the head, and thru that rod I could clearly hear the noise I was hearing. I'm pretty sure it's some bearing in the distributor is going bad. I hear if that thing gets too hot and locks up, bad things can happen.

SO.... Should I just replace the distributor with a new one? (dealer wants over $300! I'm not sure where to find a new one online, this is for a B18B1, not a Civic motor). Or try my luck with a distributor from a wrecked 'teg??

OR... What aftermarket goodies could I get to completely replace the OEM distributor with some aftermarket digital ignition system? (or is that not worth it??) I've got a T3/T4 turbo @ 6psi, and a set of Magnacore wires. Anyway, I don't exactly understand what all those MSD products are -- which seem to replace the stock distributor. Any suggestions and price estimates?
