Default is replacing main bearing necessary??

i am in the process of sleeving my h22
and just wanted to know if it is recommended to replace the main bearings...
with OEM or can i just reuse the old ones...

BTW, the projected goal is 350-400whp...
if that makes a difference...

you can but its not recomended... would you chance smoking a sleeved block over some cheap bearings?

in that case should i go OEM???replace all the main bearings in the bottom end including the connecting rod bearings??..or do they come w/ the aftermarket rods???

You gotta buy the rod bearings, I haven't seen any rods that come with bearings. Check out ACL's line of main bearings if you don't want to spend too much money.

oem mains are only like 9 bucks each...

Replace the bearings. Check clearances. Most people have no problems with the ACLs size being in spec.

I only had a problem with one acl main bearing, the other 4 were fine. Also, the stock bearings are like 10 bucks each, for one half. There's a top and bottom to each crank journal (5) and then you need the top and bottom half for the rods (4).
