Default Is this repairable??

Just wondering if any of you have seen this happen. I have it bolted up to the head, but I'm afraid if it heats up it will crack the expansion slot all the way through. Lemme know if anyone has any remedies for this.

I sent it back to the to company that made it for a repair and it came back this way; in an empty cardboard box.

That is suppose to be there. It is made for when the manifold heats up and expands. So when it contracts it doesnt crack. Its not going to hurt anything.

I really hope that you are joking, but if not SSAC has apparently had the right idea this hole time

it looks like a slot was cut there and it shifted quite a bit , i would try bolting it down and see what happens , it might pull back to shape

I'll try to take a few pics later to show the other side of the flange where it's about the break all the way through. Not sure how much further that runner will dip if it breaks??

It would seem that the engine movment during heavy load and gear shifts would cause the turbo to rock back and forth, thus pulling the manifold with it. I think that action right there would cause those points to strip the bolts holding the mani on there.

Keep in mind I'm not expert, but that looks like a possiblility.

the flange warps when they weld it and it shifts....it should be bolted down to a head when welded or milled afterwards to make it flat

Correct. Full-Race, LoveFab and some other companies do this for expansion when the manifold heats up.

Taken from the Full-Race website.

The manifold would have a more likely chance to crack if the cracks werent there and it had all the stress all the time. Im pretty sure the companies that know what there doing when it comes to fabrication all have slots cut.
