I think you will get numerous responses telling you that reliability is in your tune. Tune it and tune it well.

i should get uberdata or hondata one of those, ima get it tuned on the dyno.im run it on stock internals just for a few months then in the summer im building the motor to hold at least 400whp.

It might be OK for a while, but the ringlands will most likely eventually break even with a good tune. Good luck

I don't think 270 is out of the question for a well tuned H22... They have been pushed much farther and beaten on much harder.

reliability will probably be an issue unless its sleeved. Ive heard no matter how well tuned the h22 is, its a bitch on boost unless its sleeved and you got some lo-comp pistons in there. Stock internals are just too high of a compression and are prone to detonate...

Just my .02

god damn i knew that it wouldnt hold too much power but 270whp is not much to ask from a motor, well most likely ill get it sleeved then and put some low comp pistons and on the way just install some rods with it and boost it at 300-320whp then.who makes sleeves for a closed deck h22,darton,aebs?which one is better.

I can vouch for that I've been running a setup for a while now with well over
270 whp and have no problems with it all.

But I'm also not red-lining it from light to light everyday. Give it time and anything you beat on will eventually blow up. Built or stock.

And another thing I get so sick of hearing is low-compression pistons. Yes the stock pistons are weak, but there is much better tuning available now than there used to be, and a lot more knowledge.

that doesnt change the fact that high compression pistons are bad for boost.

Lower compression pistons just take out the vunerability of error in the tune. LEss Likely to have detonation, one again with the tuning capabilities now it can be easily done.

im not gona beat on it every time i get a chance i just want to take it out on weekends sometimes,go to the local tracks and staff like that.but it is a every day driver to work and to school so i need something reliable.ill run 250whp till the summer then built it.hopefully it holds, but i think itll hold nicely, those are good motors.thanks

im just saying when you play with fire you may get burned

yeah tuning has come a long way but still, i wouldnt consider a stock boosted h22 reliable.

to me reliable = can drive to work everyday and not worry about stuff going wrong/car being out of comission.
