Default Reliability of lsvtec turbo???

is an LS/Vtec just as reliable as just a regular vtec turbo motor would be? is there anything you can do to the ls/vtec to make it more reliable....I can get ls block with gsr girdle kit and the ls crank for a good price...sleeved to 84mm
but I can also get a b18c1 block sleeved to 81mm for a good price...I'm torn

Is is just as reliable as long as it's built properly. Not by just using quality parts, but by a person who knows what they are doing.

Personally, if the price difference isn't too big between the b18c and b18b block, I'd get the b18c. The reason being that you'd have to pay extra on the b18b block for the girdle, and the labor to modify the block to accept a vtec head.

It usually ends up being about the same price either way.

As far as reliability is concerned, that's a non issue IMHO. If they are built the same, they should last the same.

But what about tapping the oil feed to the Head AND the Turbo? Is that any type of strain or just another place its gonna go.

everything I've read seems to indicate the oil squirters to not be a big deal. What's the big deal is the block girdle.
