RED hot turbo!!
....after warming up the car, and taking it for a free spirited ride around the block for about 5-10 minutes, i pop the hood and the exhaust housing on the turbo is glowing red hot, im only boosting 6psi......
it is a brand new 16g turbo from majestic turbo in waco,tx
any thoughts or opinions if this is a dangerous condition or if it will decrease the life of the product....
i do properly turbo time of course after these fun runs, but the glowing concerns me....
thanks!

Do a search under Exhaust temperture, and I think youll find quite a bit. there was a specific post about 2 weeks ago, but you can dig that up for yourself..

Do you still have the factory Catalytic converter in? possibly you could be suffering from a "lava flow" cat problem, thats when your cat melts into slag inside and chokes your turbo .

This is due to your ignition timing being backed way off. When i was setting up the timing maps on my haltech the ignition maps in boost were way retarded. The turbo would glow when i popped the hood, red hot.
