recommended gauges for turbo? and boost controller?
guages are guages.. just get what looks cool to you, (auto meter, defi) no autozone crap tho...
many people say the simple no name/knockoff mbc's on ebay work great.

I think he means what type of gauges, not what brand. I'm kind of curious myself... I've gotten a Boost gauge and a Oil Temp gauge (VDO) so far, but am wondering what else I should get.
bare minimum is a boost gauge and an oil pressure gauge. Also highly recomended is a Wideband to keep an eye on your air/fuel ratios. After that you can start getting into things such as oil temp, water temp which are usefull.
In my setup i was running just a Inovate LC-1 wideband, Autometer boost gauge, and an autometer oil pressure gauge for the last 2 summers
I just bought a water temp and oil temp gauge cause i do alot of lapping and ive been having some overheating problems that i wanna fix
what kind of engine management are you running? With neptune RTP or hondata s300 You can get a pwm boost solenoid relatively cheap and control boost by gear.
as for gauges I personally run boost, water temp and exhaust temp. On my last setup I had an oil pressure gauge but this time around I didnt think I needed it.

I'm running an oil temp, oil pressure(bar), boost (bar), EGT, (all Autometer) and wideband with the S300. I thought about getting the TunerVisionII, but I actually like having everything there, without having to scroll through a screen like on the TunerVisionII.
I have/ getting the S300. And yes i was talking about what kind not what brand. I never thought about getting the pwm boost with the s300. but i do not want my car to be gauged out so i just want the necessary ones.

what ever you feel is necessary for your needs... Everyone has different needs. What's important to some may not be for you. I'm ****, that's why I have 5 different guages. i don't care if it's guaged out or not, or what other people think about the guages. It's about what I need to know about my engine, not what other people think.
if you only want one central unit instead of alot of gauges you could get the tuner vision and a wideband 02 like someone else stated. you dont really have to scroll through anything to see all the readings it has the option to show most if not all. I dont have it personally but i have seen it on other cars and its nice.
If you go plx, you can display multiple senors on one gauge. I have a plx wideband and egt, that will be displayed on one gauge other than that I plan on getting a oil pressure, maybe some temp gauges later.
stack gauges have been the best bang for my buck, and they are very low key

i would personally run a oil pressure, EGT (exhaust gas temp), and a Wide-band A/F(Lambda) Gauge to tell you if your running lean or rich...
hope that helps

Boost, Oil pressure and wideband. You really don't need EGT and water pressure, they are not a priority. I run an EGT on my diesel, but that's cause it's very important to keep an eye on exhaust temp's on a diesel.
Boost and oil pressure are the most important to have. If you can afford a wideband, I'd do it to. It's a good idea to be keeping an eye on your A/F to, just incase something happens with the tune.
