Recommend a good electronic boost controller
I think my Turbo XS manual one hit the dust. It wont tune at all anymore. So im in the market for a new one. An electronic one this time. The idea of quickly switching boost while not having to get out of the car appeals to me. Not looking for a whole lot of options just basic and preferably a small sized one I can fit under the CD player.

i have a blitz dual sbc spec r. it is a 1/4 din. it is bad ***, uses an awesome stepper motor. held 17 psi on the old drag kit and cannot wait to crank the bitch to 28 (damn 3 bar) you can shift on the fly. 4 preset settings.

Looks solid and small good find. Are these things alot harder to install then a manual one? Oh yea it wont interfere with my hondata s200? I was looking at the apexi one and it had like fuel controls and all that stuff.

cake man. easy to install, a little harder than a manual, but overall easy. setting it up is a little tricky, getting the gain set right but once you get your 4 settings set, turning up or lowering the boost is like turning up your radio.

the Apex AVCR doesn't have controls for fuel. you can monitor, rpm, boost, speed, throttle response and a few others I can't think of and it does alot of stuff other controllers don't do. great boost controller but difficulty level between 1-10 would be a 8. not the easiest to use at all.

once its dialed in it will hold boost no problem...i've only had it spike while it was learning the way the car boosts (ie first couple times after it was setup) but after that no spikes whatsoever

Gear dependent boost control? You can actually control how much boost there is in each gear? Damn. I dont think im ready for that yet.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the Spec-R can withstand 36psi due to it being 2.5bar

I love my AVCR but like I said before, it's not the easiest to use. takes a lil' TLC to use all of what the AVCR provides. gear depedent boost, RPM based boost, scramble boost, 2 different settings and can monitor all of what I said before and then some.

the same features that are featured on the apex website should be the same as what he is offering. to be honest with you, I think it's the same from the day it came out to the one they have now. like the AFC and super AFC and all others. this is really the only one that they haven't changed. it's that far ahead of the crowd. it's been the same since day 1.
