Reccomend me a boost controller
whats up guys. Im searching for a boost controller and im getting pretty lost in all the different kinds/setups.
2.0 liter gsr with a big ol garrett t3 60-1 running hondata. I want something that will let me switch from low and high boost while driving. i figure ill be running something like 7-8 psi low and 13-14 psi high. I was originally looking at the AVC-r but i heard that it is really complicated. I liked the idea of gear based boost control. Other then that, i dont know where to look.
Do i have to have an electoric boost controller to swtch back and forth, or do i run
two maual boost controllers and somehow switch back and forth? Reccomed me something, PLEASE
TIA

well the truth is on how much you want to spend.... but from the sounds of it a greddy profec B or something will do just fine for you.
yeah a greddy profec would probably do you best. Its an electronic boost controller and you wont need a manual boost controller. I have the Turbosmart E-boost but I dont think you want to spend around 500+ so the greddy would be best
would the new greed type s do me good? How do switch from low to high. Like in a race switching to high boost in 3rd gear or so?
what are you talking about? boost controllers or Blow off valves? a greddy type S is a BOV..... I have a greddy boost controller that has a scramble boost setting on it that I am going to be getting rod of here soon because I dont need it anymore so if you are interested let me know
ok, the Profec type s. http://www.greddy.com/prod_proftype-s.htm
thanks for the help

how are the turboxs controllers?
I really dont like the fact that you have to buy the greddy switch to switch from high to low boost with all the greddy contollers.

I dont know what your talking about...... turbo XS boost controllers I couldnt tell you anything about. I have a link for the boost controller that I have and might be selling... let me know what you think about it. http://www.sportcompactcarweb....ol04/
yes sorry, def. left that one open. I dont like the fact you have to use the greddy switch for the greddy controllers.
yeah but you dont need to use the switch unless you mount the boost controller out or arms reach and everything..... I know mine was mounted on the dash were the fog light switch was on the 92-95 civic and had no problems just tapping the scrable boost button

i have had no issues with my Blitz Dual SBC.
it has the best stepping motor IMO. and the SBC ID has the same stepper.

ok well ive decided to either go with the greddy type s and remote switch ($380) or the Apexi avcr ($395). I dont know what to go with.... any input? Comments? Advice? Thanks, josh
The Turbosmart E-boost, it is a bit pricier, $449 average street price, but well worth it. It is incredibly easy to use and install. Holds boost like nothing else. Plus it will make you more power in the mid-range and decrease your spool time, by adjusting it's gate pressure setting.
