Default Rebuilding a Turbo?

Is it possible to rebuild a turbo by yourself. A greddy turbo, i believe its not a ball bearing turbo, and i was wondering if you could just buy a bushing kit for them. it has quite a bit of play in the shaft, no in and out but alot of side to side. i am new to all this FI stuff, so i would appreciate any information you all you have or a place that rebuilds turbos for a reasonable price.

There are a few places to get turbo rebuild kits. They are ~30 dollars. I can't remember the site but a search on google would surely get some results.

find a local mechanic shop that works on deisel engines, since most big rig engines have turbos, the mechanics will know the fundamentals of a turbo and will be able to rebuild it for you....

ahh i am just gonna take it apart myself. I was a bicycle mechanic forever and am great at adjusting bearings. Bike wheels are harder to get right than a turbo i am sure. will attempt it later this month and let you all know how it goes.
