Default Rebuilding block for boost.

Ok I've got a 95 Gsr with 150k miles on it and I'm wanting to boost my motor in about a year. I will be spending roughly 2k-3k on the turbo, manifold, and so on for the turbo.

First of all what brand of pistons, rods, crank, and what ever else i would need to rebuild the block. I'm looking to make 300-400 whp.

Second of all what is a good turbo to produce that power? Fuel managment?

Third, what kind of compression should I have for boosting? 8:5, 9:5?

Should I buy a Hondata s200 w/ boost? Should that be good for my Gsr?

Thank you, Corey

i highly recommend Eagle H-beam rods... they are solid as expletive and have seen some damn good results with them.

pistons are up in the air, alot of company makes very good pistons. Factor in bore size and what compression you want to run. Then look at some ppl's set ups and see what they are running. go from there. Im runnin CP pistons in my d personally.

Run the stock crank. Just get it micropolished and balanced. Remember to use either OEM or ACL bearings

I dont think you need to sleeve the block nor do you need a block guard. But if you choose to, golden eagle makes a good guard and Benson on here is top of the line with sleeves.

The turbo all depends on what psi of boost you plan to run. Are you looking for strickly dragracing or auto x? The GT series of turbos are a great choice. Just gotta know are you lookin for quick spool or slow spool but really high end power? etc...

8.5 compression isnt about the lowest you should go. Anywhere in the low 9's is a great decrease from the 10.4 your gsr is seeing (I think its 10.4, im a d-series guy)

Crome, Neptune, Hondata, AEM EMS are all excellent sources of fuel management. Talk to your tuner and find out what they prefer to tune with. And what they hate.

Im still fairly new into the b00st scene so anyone with more experience chime in.

The compression in a USDM gsr is 10:1 if im not mistaken. I think I plan on doing mostly drag racing at the local track but I might want to try and get into autocross as well.

If your not looking to go over 300 hp, sleeving the motor will be pointless. On the compression thing i am running 9.5, but i am not really sure about how the gsr will handle the higher compression on boost. I would say lower it for sure though.
