As some of you guys might know... I sold my turbo kit a while back after all the items were recovered. Well I've gone 3 months without boost and there was no way I could stand it. The accord was so slow and boring to drive. So, like myself, I wanted to convert to the darkside, but with better parts and setup for the SOHC...
So I started buying everything. I wanted the best of the best while still keeping it under budget. My plan was to have it fully built and run 17psi daily. When the engine is getting rebuilt I am planning to do a major wire tuck, and remove P/S and A/C completely.
Now I was just thinking to my self is all this really worth it. I don't know how much money i have dropped on this thing. It has to be more than 5k already... This is just sickening and I don't know if all this will be worth it one the end... WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.... I want something that will impress me, but mainly others.
Here is my setup so far....
GT Ball Bearing Series Turbo: GT2871R
SFP Manifold (BOUGHT)
2.5" Intercooler Piping
Stainless lines and AEM Fuel Rail (BOUGHT)
P06 ECU chipped w/ Uberdata w/ Harness
Ball Bearing Turbo Cooling fittings and lines
Tial BOV
Bar and Plate Intercooler
Tial 38mm Wastegate (BOUGHT)
Aeromotive FPR (BOUGHT)
550cc Injectors (BOUGHT)
3" Downpipe
3" Kteller Exhaust
Boost, Oil pressure, and EGT Gauges (BOUGHT)
Greddy Catch Can (BOUGHT)
3Bar Map Sensor (BOUGHT)
Wiseco Pistons
Crower Rods (BOUGHT)
ACL Bearings (BOUGHT)
ARP Head Studs (BOUGHT)
XTD Stage 3 Clutch and ProLight Flywheel (BOUGHT)

MY LAST SETUP...

what are the f-series sleeves made of? I was also under the impression that they are ductile iron stock.

Like my J-series V6 they have an iron liner not the whole sleeve. It's cheap strength. (dark part of the sleeve)

Worst reason ever to build your car...
I'm almost in your boat. I went high compression LS/Vtec with nitrous.... was impressed for a bit but have begun my trip to the darkside. I've probably invest about $12K on my engine (which included machine shop/rebuild) and I'm still not boosted. Pistons and management are slowing me down at the moment.
I've asked myself many times.. what am I doing, is this worth it? The answer I always come back with is "no". But I know for a fact that the minute I am boosted I am going to love it and never want to go back.
Went through a hassle with HID's just recently. Changed light housings 2x, bought the wrong style bulb for first housing only to buy a different style for the new housing. Cost... don't ask hahah. And I got to hating the ordeal but now at night with the visibility I've gained.... I love it. I'll never go back. The same will be with boost.

Why is that a worst reason to build a car. Of course everyone wants a fast car but in the end it is all about impressing others while you are enjoying it for your self.
Also, I am pretty sure that f22's have ductile iron sleeves anyways.... I will hopefully finish the build... Thanks to everyone for the positive comment. I don't want a drag car. I mainly want a street car that is very efficient and power on tap.

Lol... doing something to impress others = worst reason ever... Thats the reason Ricers exist
It's like the people who buy sports cars to make up for lacking in other departments....
Do it for yourself... or don't do it at all.

You should be doing it for yourself. If your not...I doubt it's worth it. Quit while your ahead. From my experience...turbo hondas can provide a plethora of headaches.
And if your really concerned about impressing others...buy a super charged Z06, Buick grand national, etc. Something different or exotic.

It is good to have you back man... Ya expletive a H series (or a B)...Oh and by the way, F series do have ductile Iron sleeves. I liked your last setup...Was one of the ones which inspired me to boost mine (F22b1). I could not imagine going back now. Too many people underestimate the f series .... not only is there great HP potential, but the torque is crazy!!!!!
Welcome back to the DARK SIDE rhdune16... Its like you never left.
The dark side is always in your heart...in your soul......HA HA HAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

YOu guys still seem to be misunderstanding me. This whole build will be for me and for me to prove to my self that I can do such a task. BUT I would like to get the satisfaction that my hard work is appreciated by someone else. The only I know that will appreciate it is my brother....
Anyways... SMS-Fabricator... what kind of fab work do you do. I need a downpipe and intercooler piping tigged... up... PM me with your pricing

oo and by the way...
"The Honda F-Series engine is Honda's "big block" SOHC inline four, though limited production DOHC versions of the F-series were built. It features an aluminum open deck cast iron sleeved block and aluminum/magnesium cylinder head. It is somewhat related to the F20C/F22C found in the Honda S2000; but only in the basic operations. The F22A series are designated for the Single Overhead Cam Series and are very much the basis for design in the SOHC Mitsubishi Lancers. F22B series feature twin cams, and bears more power and control of intake and exhaust timing, at the cost of approximately 50 more pounds (20 kg) of weight at the front of the vehicle. Honda's F22 Engine won a spot on the first Ward's 10 Best Engines List in 1995. The F22 also won again the following year in 1996.
F22B2 1994-1997 Non-VTEC Accord LX, DX, SE, 2.2 liter (2156 cm³), MPFI fuel system, 130 hp (97 kW) @ 5300 rpm, 139 lbf·ft (188 N·m) @ 4200 rpm, 8.8:1 compression, oil pressure 50 psi (340 kPa) @ 3000 rpm."
