Default RB25DET into 1973 240

I know there are a lot of great fabricators here on Honda-Tech so that's why I am posting here.

Has anyone done an RB25DET into a 1973 240 swap? Basically need help with mounts.

Everyone loves threads with pictures

Going to be a single turbo GT40R or GT42R with a a standalone. Going togo help with some chassis work and mockup today.

If you have the rb25 front crossmember it may be easier to find a way to bolt that to the bottom of the frame and use the stock rb motor mounts, then you just gotta adapt the tranny mount somehow.

Some progress pictures from today.

Test fit with the original RB25 mounts and original 240 mounts

Isnt going to work

The stock bottom end that's soon going to be replaced with forged pistons and rods

How it sits with the mounts untouched

Again, how it sits with the mounts untouched

Scott modified the mount

Passenger side modified mount

How it sits with the modified mounts

Going to be a beast once it's finished

i love cars that are as old as me! i have always loved the 240 looks much better that the 260 and 280, cleaner lines, better flow. i wish i had the funds and time to do something like that. i hope you can find all the old oem parts you need. good luck!!!!!

We put it on last night and we have 1 1/2" clearance.

did you take into account how much the motor/motor mounts will flex?

I believe they have less clearance than that from the factory, but if there are problems, Nismo or other hard mounts would probably cure it.

Yes. The motor mounts are almost done. An inch and a half is enough space. If it wasnt a larger cowl hood would be made

I saw an RB something into a 240 or 280 online somewhere before. I think without touching the engine the thing ran in the 11s.

Good luck with it.

I actually seen this done before, was at a drifting event at beaver run and the
car sounded so mean. Went to the trailer later to see that it had a RB swap,
guy said it was pretty easy too. Good luck on a cool project, is there stuff
available for the suspension for these cars?
