Default R.I.P honda engine # 2

Well, about 15 minutes ago i hoped in my car and was on my way to my buddies to check out his new super 60 turbo he bought, i pulled out of my road and hammered on it like i always do and heard a big CLUNK, followed by a LOUD continuos knocking. I pulled over and opened my hood to discover a new holein my block, appearing to be cyl #3. LUCKILY i just ordered some eagle rods and je srp pistons yesturday for my spare motor. BTW its a d15, i dont recommend anyone running much boost in these engines, THEY SUCK! And of course, how much fun is it without pics?

SAFC hack, 450 injectors. Timing retarded 8* and it still kinda knocked. Im guessing it detonated and threw the rod through the block. Im ditching this junk ******* afc hack bullshit and running Uberdata on the new engine, chip burner socket and chips are already on there way.

I was running 7 psi, it would spike to 10 psi really quick when it hit full boost, then drop right down to 7 psi. I assume this is due to the gay HF manifold and internal wastegate.

sorry to hear about your loss man, in fact i do have a b18c and im worried about blowing mine up some time so im thinking about selling the motor and getting a d series with a bulit bottom end so i can boost to like 20psi and not worry because a d series is a dime a a dozen

what should i do guys? haha im stuck....

Ya, what fun is a turbo car if your not always boosting?

I hear that, right when most of our snow melted away, we're getting hit right now. I hate snow

hehe,
so it'd spike to 10, and was knocking already??

well no wonder it blew!
what engine was it? jdm d15vtec, or d15b7?

thnx
btw how come you didnt just add a bit more fuel with the afc to eleviate the knocking?

The engine didnt "knock"

there was somewhat of a ping, liek say if i was in 4th gear punching it up a hill, but normal driving it didnt really detonate. I had the afc richened up as much as it would before it threw the map sensor code. Theres only so much u can do when your limited.

The D15 rods are little weaker than the D16. Spiking to 10psi was risky. Good luck with your new pistons and rods.

I wouldnt really blame the AFC Hack..My friend has the AFC hack and he's pushing 16PSI on a Y7 motor and hit consistents 12 sec runs at the track..Daily driven and hasnt had this problem in over a year hes been with it.

His Fuel Mods are:
255lph Fuel punp
DSM 450cc
Vortech 6:1 FMU
APEX AFC

Something else must have went wrong man.
