Default Quick Turbo Question

Sorry...first of all. Cuz i know this might be in wrong forum section. But i have a sick *** deal at play.

A friend offered me a evo16g turbo for 40 bux. And im tempted to buy it for my ls motor. I know ill need alot more **** to come along. But my question is will this turbo work right for me. As in, is there anything involved to get this turbo to work on my car?

TIA....just couldnt wait for forced induction section to answer. And i needed a quick answer before he changes his mind...LoL

There's no quick answer to this, as integrating a mitsubishi evo 16g is not an easy task with parts out that. $40 sounds like the turbo may need some rebuild work, as the standard ones in good shape USED are still going for 200-400 bucks.

You need to do a decent amount of custom fab to make that work. ask yourself if you're ready for that. if not, its' not worth the cash. Only you can decide that. we can't help you in that regard.

It has no shaft play. But he swears I just need a t3 manifold and im good to go. But from my research Ive seen its a dual flow or what ever its called turbo. And its not as easy.

No the evo 16g's have a funny flange, not specific like a T2 or T3. You can do it, you just need the appropriate flanges. Then you need to weigh if its worth the time and effort on making it fit, or just buying a turbo that is easier to work with.

Yeah....im gonna have to skip on this deal. I just dont really think its worth all the fab work. When i can get a more decent turbo for about the same price i would waste to make it work. Thanx for the heads up guys...apppreciate it.

P.S the only manifold ive seen is about 500 bux. F that
