Default Quick Question, SC34

Hey guys I'm sure this is been gone over before but I couldn't find it. I have a SC34 that I got with an old turbo kit. I was doing 250whp but that gets old so I'm doing a new build.

Question: How much whp can I get out of a SC34? I think it says .48 on the exhaust side and .60 on the cold side.

Plan is 450ish whp on a stock sleeve ls/vtec on pump gas.

I think I need a bigger turbo, looking at the SC61's. Let me know what you guys think!

Edit: don't know if it matters but its a 5 bolt.

Hmmm I'm hearing a couple different things obviously.. Any more opinions? The thing I would hate the most is going to your tuner and not being able to put down what you want because my turbo ended up being too small. Theres $600 down the drain I suppose.

I'd be happy with 422, its just a street car.

Do you know what his AR on the turbo is for sure? like i said, im sure mine is .48ar hot and .60 cold.

Can someone explain how AR's work real fast?

Thanks a lot for the info, looks like I'm keeping mine for a while now, no need to upgrade what I don't need to.

For Xenocron and Turbo-Charged especially (or anyone else with experience on point), what is the spool like on these SC34s, and how much sooner is it in general than an SC61?

made 420whp@17-18psi with a garret t3/to4b 57-trim w/.63ar...

is basically the same as the sc34.....i dont think 450whp is that out of reach......although i dont know how well the .48ar exhaust side will flow at that power level....

I made 450 at 21.5 psi on my 10:1 Piston/Rod 81.5 mm LSV. Full spool by 5800 (or something like that) and a straight line boost all the way to 8200 redline.

.48/.63 57 trim SC34...this turbo is 4 years old too

Thanks again for all the input

I did a little research and it looks like the SC34 is worth around $500 and a SC61 is about $600-$650. So I'll try to sell mine for $500 and if it doesn't sell I'll just keep it, if it does I'll get the SC61 for a little more on top, no big deal

I can't compare to a SC61 obviously, but I have full boost at 4500 on a stock ls (running 16 lbs with a LOT of timing pulled so only about 280 whp ) with a Spoolin Performance LOG manifold.

I don't really care if I have to turn it up to 30 psi if it accomplishes what it needs to Should I be concerned about high boost levels on pump gas or something?

Oh and I have a minty condition SC34 for sale with NO shaft play $500

I did 478whp @ 26 psi with an SC34. 26 was about all we could get out of it. 417whp @ 20 psi. It was definitely a fun turbo but lots of spin since it spooled so soon.

I have a stage three 4 bolt .63 ar turbine housing if you ever want to upgrade it from your .48 ar.
