Quick question about Injector size
Got a question that I'm stuck on. Did some research but nothing showing up at the moment to help guide me on the turbo build.
91 CRX Si running a T3 Super 60. Tial wastegate, greddy blow off, yadda yadda. It'll be boosting 7-10psi. Chipped ecu with chrome. I think that should help with the question.
The build won't require huge injectors BUT it has 630cc siemens injectors. Is it a good idea to run these injectors eventhough they won't be used anywhere near their full potential? Also should the build have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator (b&m?) or will the ecu/tune(will be done on a dyno) and oxygen sensor figure things out?
Thanks in advance folks,
-Rik

Re: (Rikter)
450's would probably be ideal for that setup... you will never need an adjustable fpr with those size injectors. the fpr is used to bump up the fuel pressure to bring back the duty cycle on the injectors.

why?? please explain your suggestion
OP-
the current 630cc will be perfectly fine and you wont need a fpr. 630's can easily be tuned and there will be no drawback to running them at a lower duty cycles. no need to spend more money to swap injectors. happy boosting

600cc injectors dont come in to play untill about 400whp. He is only boosting on 7lbs.
440cc injectors will probably max out at about 300whp or maybe 290whp. He will need a fuel pressure reg because he will run rich with out it. The hole for the return is too small on the stock one.
It looks like to me this is going on a d series. So then again maybe he will be at about 200whp.

no way, you will be limited by the diameter of the return hose before the size of the return on the regulator would ever be a problem, also he can tune the 440's to run just fine at like 65% duty cycle with no change in fuel pressure

Re: (Mr Wonderfull)
your injectors are fine, just have the tuner control them thru your chip ecu program he could cut or increase your fuel level with chrome pro or get the hondata s-300 which is better I know few guys the run on 8-10 pounds with big injectors like 750cc and got no problem all you need is a good tuner that knows what his doing good luck

Thanks for all the replies guys. Learning lots. It'll be on a DOHC ZC engine, not the stock D-series. The only reason this question came up is because there was a set of injectors (the 630cc ones) laying around already.

personally, i would not waste your money on S300, crome will run perfect. and the 630cc's will be fine as well. you could run 440's, 550, 650, 750, 880, 750, 730, 1000, whatever, you just tune it. as long as the injectors are big enough for your goals thats all that matters for the most part.
