Will an intercooler that measures 24x8x3.5 (30" long with end tanks) fit in my 92 civic bumper and still allow enough air flow to my raditor?
I fitted a 22"x8"x3" core intercooler under a 1995 Si bumper cover and I thought it was tight. I was originally comparing between the 22"x8"x3" core and (the slightly longer) 24"x8"x3" core.
I'm pretty lucky I went with the 22"x8"x3" because I feel that the longer core would have required too much material removal (for my likeing) to fit the endtanks and pipe connections. Plus I felt that the 2" added length would not provide enough extra cooling to compensate for the extra fittment issues.
The core you are asking about is also another 1/2" thicker than mine so I would take that into account also. I'm not at all saying it can not be done, but in my case it would not have worked within my constraints.
Heck even when I upgraded to this current intercooler I had to remove the front bumper core, which I wanted to avoid. A chromoly replacement is only the way. I could have also gone taller, but I wanted to minimize the trimming to the bumper cover.
I'll get some pics rounded up, maybe they will give you some insight. They should show the radiator area covered by the intercooler also.

Sorry the car is very dirty in these pictures...but you get the idea
Showing the core behind the bumper cover
Shows the pusher fan and radiator peeking out from the intercooler
The core covered by the bumper cover
