Default quick bov question

i was given a bov for free from my friend. it is a ebay xspower bov, i really dont know which model or whatever. but my question is on the top of the bov there the nipple is, isnt it suppose to be sealed and so tthat no air can get in or out or is it suppose to let a little air in/out?

ok.... it seems to me that you dont really know how a BOV works. I am not trying to be a dick or anything so dont get me wrong....

You have to put a vac line on the nipple and run that to your manifold or a Vac manifold.... there is a spring inside that along with the Vac line (that will also see pressure when you are in boost) keep it closed. When you let off the gas the vac line releases the pressure and the spring and vac will cause the valve to open letting air out of the charge pipes via the holes near the bottom of it

I hope this helps you and you understand what I am saying..... lol its 2am here and I have been drinking so bear with me

but it seems like the seal is bad or something on the bov and i think it might just leak boost when it is installed.

all the top does is read vaccum, hook a vaccum line up to it and your good to go. it has to read the air so it can open and go "PSSSHHTTTT"

Install it and see what happens. Boost leak won't kill you.
