Default Questions on sleeved block and head

I got some goodies but I have some questions-
Are these nicks in the combustion chamber alright? Do they need to be filled?

On my GE block there is a gap between two of the sleeves, anyone else have this?
It looked different from the other sleeve junctions...just seeing if this is normal or what.

Thanks
Ben

as for the cylinder head i'm not sure what to say but for the block i just got my back from GE and checked to see if mine looked like yours and well it has no cracks in between each sleeve. Give them a call and ask them they should take care you.

I don't think that should be a problem with the GEM sleeves. My GEM sleeves don't have that crack. Give Rob/Vince/Ted a call and ask them. That's your best bet.

Head is fine, no need to get it filled. I guess those were too hard to get out of the combustion chamber.

On the head- it would take too much grinding to get those out, but I'm going to have it opened to 84.5 and spot faced, filling the divots would be pretty easy.
I emailed GEM and I'll be calling tomorrow...hopefully it'll be fine. The step deck wasn't done, but I'm not too worried about that.

The only problem with that thinking is that the other sleeves are pretty flush, this is the only one with a gap.

To BNJMN,

Your block looks just fine. A little gap between the sleeves is nothing to worry about. Also, it was step decked, all of our blocks get this process unless asked not to. The stepdeck is so small, you cannot see it and would need some good equipment to measure it. No worries, your block will give you years of reliability and lots of performance. If you need anything, please feel free to give us a call anytime
