Default Questions to the race car drivers

as i've mentioned to some of you already...i've decided to scrap my "world's fastest prelude" project and throw everything (including H22A) into a CRX race car.
i've got a bunch of questions but for the most part...these are what's important to me:

1) how many of you had to remount your engine so that the axles sit perfectly straight?

2) what order should i build the frame? ie...should i buy the one-piece front first, then tube frame front, roll cage, and then mount the engine? or is there more stuff recommended in between like putting the suspension in before the engine?

3) how many use line locks? what exactly does this do?? how does it work?

4) can i run stock axles if they sit perfectly straight?

5) I own a Quaife...should i switch to a Drag Spool?

6) Good Driveshafts...big slicks (28x10)...will the tranny hold up?

7) when going tube frame front...should i cut from the firewall forward? or halfway up?

that's it for now...i'm sure i'll come up with more questions later

yes i do. i'm from toronto...but my dreams are to run in the states. wanted to try hot rod class

u can't tube the front... once u tube the front u are thrown in the modified class (at least what was the modified class which is basically a full tube chassis class for fwd

From my experience...

Im using a B-series motor so no idea on this.

2) what order should i build the frame? ie...should i buy the one-piece front first, then tube frame front, roll cage, and then mount the engine? or is there more stuff recommended in between like putting the suspension in before the engine?

When I first got my car I gutted the entire thing and then sent it to get the chassis guy to get my cage done. After that I got all the fiberglass and carbon fiber and then got the paint job and put in the lexan. Done with chassis (most of it anyway)

3) how many use line locks? what exactly does this do?? how does it work?

I am using a line lock. It replace's the e-brake pretty much but places it in a much better racing position, plus you can place ur 2 step button on it or use a trigger so when u let go itz off the 2 step.

4) can i run stock axles if they sit perfectly straight?

Again don't know this since I am not using a H22

5) I own a Quaife...should i switch to a Drag Spool?

I wouldn't, lots of racers R still using the quaife with good success. If you were to use a drag spool it would be a mark williams or a nitro drag spool. the pro drive is suspect compared to those units.


6) Good Driveshafts...big slicks (28x10)...will the tranny hold up?

If you use the mark williams or nitro you will have no problem, wont even have to think about the drivetrain expect for a couple of inspections. If ur using the drive shaft shop stage 5 or pro drive stage 2 then you will have to check for cracks in the drivetrain more often. The problem lies in the tranny where you will go through tranny's like they grow on tree's. Well I know thas how it goes on the B-series tranny's and I doubt the H series tranny's R any better.

What do u mean tube front??
