Default Questions on AEM FPR...

How low of a fuel pressure will the AEM go, and would anyone know off hand what idle pressures should be on a 99 B16A with RC 270CC injectors...?

I've seen people idle with 21 psi and a Walbro GSS342. As you know, that pump pumps like a **** at idle. Using a stock pump, you might even be able to get it lower than that. You shouldn't need to run idle pressure that low though unless you're running huge injectors.

Well, I'm nit sure how Jackson Racings pump compares with the Walboro you mentioned... but I am currently at about 34psi at idle, and that is the lowest this AEM will allow it to drop...

I know there are 3 different size orifices you can run in the AEM, which color is the one that will allow the pressure to drop to it's lowest...? I think there was a silver, gold, and then the one that came in the regulator from AEM... I'm feeling with my 270's I want to run about 26psi at idle...

Sometimes after the car is warm, i will have an erratic idle until it stabilizes itself, and I'm getting a strong odor as well, kind of a mixture of fuel and exhaust... almost smells like when a cat goes bad, but it can't really be my cat, as I've only had it for about 6-8 months... It's a CarSound 3" cat...

So, would anyone happen to have any extra orifices laying around that they have no use for, because the person who installed my FPR, must have kept them or threw them away...

Thanks...

I have a holly 255lph pump so with the largest orifice the lowest that i can get me fuel pressure is 37psi.So that is what i'm runing with me 310cc injectors.
I think that you may have another problem because 270's are not much bigger then stock so your fuel pressure at idle should only go down a few psi and the ecu will compensate for the rest.Check you o2 sensor and make sure it's functioning properly. When i was runing 42psi at idle i could smell the unburned fuel but since i lowered the fuel pressure i cant smell any and my air/fuel ratio gauge reads rite where it should.
