Im planning to purchase a peakboost kit for my 99 gsr. I was wondering if i keep my 2.5 exhaust set-up will that restrict my turbo too much. Or am i better of buying a new full 3 inch set-up.

 

depends on how much WHP your going for. it would be EASIER to make MORE power with the bigger exhaust but its not a must for under 350ish. if you have a 3" downpipe you might aswell match the exhaust. its cheap to make your own 3" exhaust.

 

2.5" would be decent. 3" is just better. i got the peakboost ramhorn kit on my b16 ek hatch and skunk2 megapower r which is 70mm or 2.75" and its puttin down good numbers.

 

hey jdm how much hp are you putting down on the skunk2. Hey itr-ekcoupe im planning to probably boost only 10-15 lbs of boost and hoping to make about 300-350 hp so i should be fine correct.

 

last time i dynod it put down 334 on 10-11 lbs.

 

hey jdm is your skunk2 loud ive heard lots of people that it is.

 

nah...well inside it gets kinda loud in some of the rpms but i get used to it. outside its not that loud, noticeable, but its pretty quiet actually. i like how it sounds.

 

should be fine. like i said, its easier to make more power with bigger exhaust. so it might take a few more psi to make your power goal. no biggie.
