Default Question regaurding intake temps and possible resolution to hot intake issues.

Just curious if anyone knows how much this will help. I have yet to get a solid answer if this is truly worth the effort to do . I was thinking of taking the water lines off the throttle body and the IACV from the water tube in the back of the block and just plugging them off. Will that helpat all with keeping the manifold a little cooler?

Just curious

Yes, take it out of the throttle body. I did on my new setup. I just bypassed those lines. It will help but not as much as you want. I would leave the iACV alone though. Not worth it IMO.

What are your temps now? Send me a datalog if you got one. Mine (last year mind you) NEVER got above 110 on this was on a hot day. When I dynoed, it was in the mid to high 90's.
On a cool day, it would be in the mid 70's to low 80's.

On a hotttt day in the pits i would seee 146 at idle and like 118 going down the track. I dont have any datalogs on me , they are on my laptop at home .
i have jacked the back of the hood up since then , but im still looking to get it cooler if possible. i havent datalogged since i made that change, but i can assume its not a huge difference.

Any progress on the cold air intake for the turbo compressor?

That is real high Pete IMO. Although my temps were with a Maxrev mani and not an equal length. I won't know what the changes are until I put my stuff on.

i know they are hotttt, thats why im trying to bring them down . i might end up jsut sporaying nitrous on the damn manifold before the runs.

have a friend hose down the fmic with a fire extinguisher before each run. much cheaper than nitrous and just as cold! plus everyone will think your badass .... or your cars on fire. lol
