question on engine blowing up
not long ago i blew my engine, here is the thread:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=399672
if you don't like reading all of it, here is a summary: i was boosting 9psi on my b16a for 3 months before it went. the culprit, as far as i know, was the fuel management where in i'm only using an 8:1 FMU, inline pump and stock injectors. when my friends heard about my engine, they keep on implying indirectly that the problem may also be the installation.
I and my bro did the installation ourselves but we did it carefully and with a lot of research. we had in our minds that a blown engine was inevitable coz of the fuel management but due to budget concern, it wasn't address right away. now, i like to know, could it also be our installation? coz i was thinking if it was the installation then it wouldn't lasted 3 months right? and i was also thinking, the only thing(granting i installed everything properly) that could happen with installation is ending up with a boost leak for not connecting the pipes properly. correct me if i'm wrong though.
i know i should've had it tuned and i should've give some attention to the fueling right away, but could it also be the installation as well on what happened to me? in what way?
any info will be appreciated.

Re: question on engine blowing up (_Endless_)
tunning and fuel. theres your answer. leaky charge pipes wont cause your engine to blow, just reduce psi. you answered the question already. you knew where your faults were and you saw the outcome. hopefully this doesnt come across as rude cause i dont mean it that way. just remeber that fuel management is your #1 priority when it comes to boosting. it will save you headaches later on. and a lot of money. good luck with the new engine!

Damn its threads like this that make me wonder if I should even go turbo!! I just got my turbo too but I ave the 12:1 fmu. It had to have been because of the *8:1 fmu.

learn as much as you can about what it takes to run turbo safely on your motor. until then, i dont recommend rushing into turbo w/o knowing the fundamental.
good luck & play smart.
