question on drill&tap

Default question on drill&tap

my manifold is taking longer than i thought, got caught up with college work. but should be able to get it done saturday. so am i suppose to drill and tap my manifold inlet flange then use bolts AND nuts to put turbo on the manifold?

If your gonna tap the manifold, why are you going to use Nuts?

I say drill it, and use bolts, nuts, and lock washers.

alright its already drill to 3/8 so ill just slip some bolts with lockwasher down the holes and then put nuts from underneath.

thanks stan, i was just reading some old old posts and it sounded like some of them tapped their inlet on the manifold but im not a very good reader

it's not necessary. use bolts and nuts and you'll be fine

or you could tap it and then not have to hold both ends when you tighten it
