question about victor x intake mani

helped a friend put a victor x intake mani on his gsr motor this past weekend and we were just wondering what the hell the is the big hole in the back of the plenum for? the one you screw the big *** plug into...anyone know?

Just how they cast it I was told, much easier to do, look at a stock B16 or ITR same.
